Bringing wood-fired cooking to Aussie backyards
Mick Humphreys is the founder of Z Grills Australia. The Australian business has been the sole distributor of the Z Grills brand in Australia since 2019.
Mick started the business after seeing a gap in the Australian BBQ market. What frustrated him was the number of cheaply made barbecues being sold at premium prices. He wanted to change that: offer Australians better quality and value, with a local team they could turn to for advice and support.
From the grill to the guide
Mick shares practical cooking advice from his own experience. In his reverse-sear steak recipe, he explains why he prefers the flat side of a cast iron plate for an even sear, and why giving the meat time to cook low and slow matters.
