Z Grills returns to The Block with Omar and Oz
In this article

Australia, 31 October 2022 — Z Grills has returned to The Block, with the 700E-XL wood pellet smoker listed in Omar and Oz’s landscaping project for the show’s 2022 season.
Nine’s official Week 12 supplier list names Z Grills as the smoker supplier and identifies the 700E-XL. The inclusion follows the same model’s appearance in Kirsty and Jesse’s backyard project in 2021.
Outdoor cooking in the Macedon Ranges
The 2022 season took the contestants to Gisborne South in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges. The larger properties gave each team a substantial outdoor project to complete alongside the house renovation.
Omar and Oz’s finished landscape included a pool and a tennis court that could also be used for basketball. Their outdoor kitchen and dining area formed another part of the space, with the 700E-XL recorded among the project’s supplied products.
Nine’s judging recap records a score of 28.5 for Omar and Oz. Their landscaping placed behind Tom and Sarah-Jane’s winning entry.
A second appearance for the 700E-XL
For Z Grills Australia, the return to the show is another opportunity for viewers to see a wood pellet smoker included in an outdoor living project.
The two settings were different: Kirsty and Jesse’s suburban backyard in 2021, followed by Omar and Oz’s country property in 2022. Both brought cooking into the design of an area where people could gather and share a meal.
Viewers can check the model directly in Nine’s supplier list, which links to the 700E-XL through The Block Shop. That record provides the clearest reference for the grill included in Omar and Oz’s project.
Z Grills Australia supplies wood pellet smokers for Australian home cooks, with local product support and resources for owners.
How a wood pellet smoker cooks your food
Wood pellets supply both the heat and smoky flavour. An electric auger moves them from the hopper into a fire pot, where an ignition rod starts the fire. A fan feeds air to the fire and moves hot air around the cooking chamber.
Once you choose a temperature, the controller monitors the grill and adjusts the pellet feed to help keep it near that setting. You can use lower temperatures for brisket, pork shoulder and ribs, or higher settings for roasting and baking. You still need to check the food, keep the hopper supplied and follow the grill’s operating instructions.
